At a top secret location a team of Eagle Rider members have been working tirelessly developing and building the ultimate speed machine. Using the latest cutting edge materials and advanced propulsion technology they have achieved in 240 man hours what many land speed record hunters have failed to do in a life time. The speed of light is now within our grasp.
Although most of the details are inevitably kept TOP SECRET we are prepared to divulge some information to the scientists and the top brains of the world. Below is an insight into the creation of this awesome and unique wonder of the motor racing world.
The Build:
Having spent about 2 hours deciding on a design it was unanimously agreed, driver safety would be above all not worth worrying about. Once the final design was agreed on, taking into account what wheels, body work, chassis, and braking system was to be employed, we made something completely different due to a lack of funding. So with just a budget of less than £10.00p and a few DIY tools we went to work creating the AWESOME EAGLE RIDER.
Specifications
Wheels: Magnesium, Mobility Scooter wheels
(Donor mobility scooter last seen sat on bricks outside Fareham post office)
Chassis: High Tensile Carbon Composite, also known as “plywood” (think of the cost saving)
Drivers Cockpit: (HDPE) Council approved environmentally tested for leaks and odours.
(We had WHEELIE BIN lucky to find this in my neighbour’s garden filled with rubbish what a waist!)
Steering: Biological push rams (driver’s legs and feet)
Brake System: Temperature resistant ceramics. All carefully disguised as a bit of rubber matting stuck to pinewood brake blocks. (I can almost smell the adrenalin now just thinking about it)
Power source: Cold Fusion V-Twin (actually that might be Confusion V-Twin) we’ll see on the day.
Paint and bodywork: Wicks home brand stealth paint. As you can see we have had to use some stealth paint so our competitors are oblivious to the full details of the design, plus it has great coverage on all wood, metal and plastics. We would recommend it for all those outdoor painting jobs.
The Driver
This is not a vehicle just anyone can jump in and drive; it takes a very special sort of person to pilot this bad boy. You would need the skill and reflexes of a fighter pilot, the nerves of an astronaut and the intellectual capacity of ALFRED EINSTINE? Some people say he has a relative on every planet in the solar system, others say his feet are longer than his legs, but all we know is, he’s called
DANGEROUS STEVE.
Well we have not tested the vehicle yet due to the massive speed we are expecting it to reach, but our first race will take place on Monday the 30th May at the Whitehill Bordon Soap Box Derby
Make a point of being there to witness the launching of this the ultimate speed machine.
